Grade Activities

Written by: Andrea Urcuyo

Education has been constantly changing. Teachers have had to rethink the way they approach us. One way to have us put our creativity out there and learn how to work in teams has been through projects. These projects can help us improve in many ways. For instance, in our English class we have been collaboratively working on a website. Other grades have been assigned similar activities. Through these projects we are able to improve our vocabulary, fluency, comprehension, and speaking skills.

9th grade has been assigned a marketing challenge. They were divided into 2 groups and had to choose a product they would like to upgrade. Each team had to decide on a logo, slogan and all the marketing strategies necessary to promote their product. They followed a structured pdf given by Ms. Buezo not to get lost. They will promote the product around the school and whoever gets the most votes will win.

10th graders have been working on a website. The job was divided into 2 groups that covers different topics and events of our school. We share the school activities, mental health advice, student council, and more. And adding the projects of other grades from 9th to 12th grade. The other group works on the school activities and events.

11th grade is working on a magazine. They were split into 2 different groups that consists of the school’s information for both groups. They build the magazine by looking at recent magazines to understand how it would look aesthetically. After the esthetic was done, they started to look for information about school life from the internet as a reference to make an adaptation of it of how it looks like to be in the Europaschule school. They also interviewed some students to get highlights on what they like about the school. This procedure includes both teams.

12th grade is working on a newspaper. They were also separated into 2 different groups that narrates the school’s activities. The groups had been looking for information that they liked to build their part of the newspaper and it also consists of information that are from the and outside the school. The information in the newspaper was filled with national and international news,  and general culture. With research done they divided the work so that the members could work on their part, then finally editing the newspaper to just show it to the public and school.

And of course you might ask, how does this help students improve their life in school?

Well, not only it is created by members from the school community who share what they live on a daily basis, but brings unity among elementary and high school. Everyone feels part and gets involved on whatever goes in school.

These projects contribute to make this school a better place for the students and teachers.
